Action for designating specific units within local governments inUganda that can immediately respond to requests for information

The Local Governance Network (LOGONET) has identified a problem where women
and WHRDs are finding it hard to obtain information from Local Governments even
when they follow the established procedures for obtaining such information.
LOGONET is planning an action that will involve working with 40 Local governments
in Uganda to designate specific units within local governments that can immediately
respond to requests for information. LOGONET plans to conduct a series of
meetings with different local governments and will establish Local Governance
Committees that will work with Local Governments to ensure that requests for
information are given urgent attention.
